AI is evolving faster than the ability of many organizations to deploy it productively, safely and at scale. It’s no surprise that average AI maturity declined by 20% this year, according to our 2025 Enterprise AI Maturity Index. Often, organizations learned that their people, processes, and systems were not AI-ready or that their initiatives were not scalable. Critically, they found that returns on investment were not guaranteed.
Despite these roadblocks, most organizations we surveyed believe that AI innovation will fuel a business renaissance, ultimately transforming how they operate, innovate, and compete. Our research found that more than three-quarters of organizations are now operating with a clear, shared AI vision for business transformation across the enterprise.
